Yogurt Marinade for Chicken
As I mentioned earlier, My sisters and I threw a big party for my parents last weekend and it was a great success. For the main meal at the party, I did kind of a vaguely middle eastern/greek feast for everyone, the centerpiece being these marinated chicken drumsticks and pork tenderloins. The marinade might seem like a bit of work and a little pricy, but the fact is, it can transform cheaper cuts of meat into a luxurious treat fit for a king.
Everything for the marinade except the yogurt goes into the blender or food processor.
Then it gets mixed into the yogurt. Then just pour it over the meat! I used pork tenderloins and chicken drumsticks. This would also be great on lamb.
My sisters and cousins are ready to surprise my parents.
And suprised they were!
After the initial shock wore off, I got the grill going so we could eat before it got dark.
Tasty chicken on the grill.
The pork came out super flavorful and juicy, but I think that the chicken was the real star of the show.
I also put out a spread of jewled rice, lentils, and a yogurt sauce that was like a cross between tzatziki and raita with tons of herbs.
There was also a minty cucumber salad.
That chicken though. So good.
