Canadian Bacon Shell Tacos
I had this idea by mistake, I meant to heat up a slice of canadian bacon in the oven and I totally forgot about it! When I remembered later, I grabbed it from the oven and it was totally solid. But not like all burnt or anything, it was a nice texture but firm. When brainstorming what to put into a Canadian Bacon taco shell, my first thought was a pickle salsa, because I love the taste of pickles with Canadian Bacon and cheese. I also wanted to put on plenty of lettuce to freshen it up a little. It all came together quick and easy with these slices of Jones Dairy Farm Canadian Bacon.
The way to make the shells is to put your Canadian Bacon onto a wire rack in the oven and bake it until it hardens in that hanging shape.
You need to arrange the Canadian Bacon on your rack in such a way that it matches up with the racks in your oven.
When it comes out it isn’t super crispy yet, but it is pretty hard and gets a little harder. If some of your shells are too closed to put stuff in, while it is still hot, stuff a paper towel in to stretch it open a little before it hardens.
Meanwhile, make the quick pickle salsa.
These things come out really cute and fun, and the stuffing possibilities are endless!
And they are nice and easy to make
I like how they are only 2 bites each. So small.
If you want to stand them up, you need a little cheese as a base.

Ingredients
- Canadian Bacon
- Cheese
- Lettuce
- Pickles
- Onion
- Cilantro
- Jalapeno
- Garlic
Instructions
- To make the hard ham shells, put the Jones Dairy Farm Canadian Bacon onto a wire rack in your oven and bake it at 375 for about 15-20 minutes or until it is hardened.
- I served these with cheese, a pickle salsa, and lettuce, but you could put whatever you want in them! The pickle salsa was just some pickles, onion, cilantro, jalapeno, and garlic.
Adorable! You know how I feel about mini, bite-szied foods. I never would have thought to make ham shell tacos.
