Gyro Dip

Gyro Dip

I haven’t pulled out a sandwich-as-dip recipe in a while, but this one has been in my back pocket for a couple months and I finally made it this past weekend. This dip was fantastic and thanks to some pita chips it tasted 100% like eating a gyro. We are in the full swing of “I need an app to bring to a party” season and this one is a winner. Bring this to your next ugly sweater party or whatever it is the kids are doing these days and you will be the hit of the party.

I cooked the lamb with some browned onion and a pinch of spices like cumin, oregano, and sumac.

There are cucumbers, tomato, parsley and garlic in the bowl.

Add in some yogurt and mix it all up. Love to have girl hands on the blog.

Once the lamb is done mix it all in.

Easy and delicious. We devoured this dip.

It’s super savory and craveable. Not the type of dip you only have one bite of.

Gyro Dip

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Pound Ground Lamb
  • 1/2 Onion diced
  • 2 Teaspoons Oregano
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 Teaspoon Sumac
  • 1 Teaspoon Coriander
  • 1 Cup Diced Cucumbers
  • 1 Cup Diced Tomato
  • 1/4 Cup Minced Parsley
  • 1 Clove Garlic grated or pressed
  • 1 Lemon juice
  • 1 Cup Yogurt give or take

Instructions

  • Saute the onion in some butter to brown. When it just starts browning after about 15 minutes, add in the lamb. Cook until browned, removing fat if needed. Add in the spices and cook another 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • Meanwhile, mix all the other ingredients in a bowl. Add in the lamb and spice mixture after it cools slightly. Add more yogurt as needed. Allow to sit in the fridge for an hour or so before serving.
