Green Tea Lime Spritzer

Green Tea Lime Spritzer

Whoa another Tuesday post? Yea… for some reason I feel like it would be a rip-off for me to post a drink recipe on the regularly scheduled days, so here we are. The thing is, this drink is so fantastic that it should never be considered a rip-off. In fact, it’s so good that it’s NON-ALCOHOLIC and I STILL put effort into it! Well sometimes I put vodka into it too.

Making an extra strong tea mixture. Do not bring this to a boil.

After the tea steeps for awhile, add in some fresh local honey. After it’s fully cooled, some lime juice goes in.

Get some of your tea concentrate into the cup, followed by soda water. Serve with limes and enjoy.

Note – this drink is practically unsweetened, and fairly sour/bitter from the tea and limes, so feel free to add more honey to your tastes. I personally think it is super refreshing as written.

Ingredients

  • 20 Matcha Green Tea Bags brands vary so it might be different.
  • 3 Cups Water
  • 1 Heaping Tablespoon Honey
  • 1/3 Cup Lime Juice

Instructions

  • Heat the water with the teabags but do NOT bring to a boil. Remove from heat at the first sign of a simmer. Allow to steep at room temp for a solid hour if not two. After the first hour when it is still fairly warm, stir in the honey so it dissolves. Remove the teabags and put the tea in the fridge. Once cold add the lime juice. When ready to serve, fill your glass with ice and pour in 1/4 cup of the tea mixture. Top with soda water. Serve with fresh lime wedges. Note – this drink is practically unsweetened, and fairly sour/bitter from the tea and limes, so feel free to add more honey to your tastes. I personally think it is super refreshing as written.

  1. I’ve been cutting back on the ole’ weekday boozy time, but I really enjoy making drinks with dinner. Looks like we have a winner! Making this tonight!

  2. I just made a cocktail inspired by this!
I used 18 tea bags of Yogi Tea Green Chai (other brands available), sweetened with agave syrup, added lime and mixed with half a litre of cola. Served with scotch & ice.
Now I just need a name for it!
