I was going to write that it's been a busy few weeks, but then I realized that its been pretty much crazy around here since August. All the work at Cafe Burrito, commuting, and sharing my kitchen space has, IMO, caused a slight dip in the quality level of the blog. I have decided to take 2 weeks off blogging so I can enjoy the holidays with my family and friends. When I return, I will have moved back to the city and not be sharing my kitchen anymore! I am really excited for whats next, and you should be too!

On with the wallpapers. You know the deal: Most of these have a dual monitor option(2560x1024) for two 1280x1024 monitors next to each other. Also, please don't use these commercially without asking. If you want to use these on your smartphone, browse to the 1024X768 option from your phone and choose "set as wallpaper" from the menu. Do you love fried pickles but are bored by the lack of heat? Are you sick of putting un-breaded non-fried toppings on your burger? Well look no further! The fried pickled jalapeno burger is here!

My roomates are getting sick of soup, but I don't care. I could eat soup every night when it's cold out, so soup Mondays live on! Todays soup is a tasty cross between chili and chicken tikka masala, two dishes that have similar flavors overlapping between them. So is this a chicken chili with curry powder, or a chicken tikka with beans? You decide.

Yo Dawg, I heard you like pasta, so I put pasta inside your pasta. Yup. These ravioli were amazing. My favorite thing stuffed inside my other favorite thing. If this incorporated pizza somehow I think my head would have exploded. A perfect tomato sauce and tender homemade pasta, wrapped around a creamy mac and cheese.

The salsa of the month at Cafe Burrito in December is Pomegranate-Orange. The flavor and texture of this salsa is like none I have ever tasted before. The way the seeds pop in your mouth while you munch on a burrito is really a unique sensation! If you wanna try it, you better come in soon, because the distributor told me pomegranate season ends early this year and they don't expect to have them in stock after Christmas.

When I had all those habaneros a few weeks back, I stuffed a bunch into a bottle of vodka and let them just sit there for awhile. Finally I used the fiery vodka in a cocktail this past weekend. I know that habaneros go really well with peach, so I based the drink on that pairing. The most famous peach drink is the fuzzy navel, and the habanero kick almost seemed like a natural addition to this classic drink.

Before Lava Lake Lamb sent me these lamb short ribs, I hadn't even known that that cut existed. I mean, sure lamb chops I've seen plenty, but these short ribs behaved just like their beef counterpart, only with less meat on the bones. I was excited to get to work with them, because beef short ribs are one of my favorite cuts of meat. For my first test I decided to do something simple with a long slow cook so I didn't have to worry about precise times and temperatures.
