Servings: 4 people
- 1 cup leftover pizza dough
- oil for frying
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh marjoram
- 1/4 cup chopped peanuts
Form small balls with the pizza dough, about 1 inch round. Allow to sit for about a half hour to rise. Bring oil for 350 for frying.
Mix the honey, butter, sugar, and half the marjoram in a small pot. Season with a pinch of salt. Bring to a simmer and cook for a few minutes. Remove from heat.
Fry the dough for about 3-5 minutes to cook through. Remove from oil to a drying rack.
Allow the donuts to cool about 1 minute and then add them to the pot with the warm glaze. Toss to coat.
Dump the donuts out onto a platter and sprinkle with the remaining marjoram and the peanuts.
