Pizza Party at Table

Post Sponsored by Table Maine

I was lucky enough to spend some time in Kennebunkport, Maine this weekend with a group of fun friends and bloggers. The highlight of the weekend for me was when I got to cook some pizzas at Table, a kitchen and restaurant space that is normally used for special events and classes. They have a brick oven that was the perfect cooking environment for the style of pizza dough I normally make. I asked each one of my blogger friends to come up with a pizza idea and send me the recipe, and I made them one by one.

This was the crew for the weekend.  A really fun group! My pizza dough recipe is here.  You need to make it nice and early because there is a 4 day ferment, so I made this at home and drove it to Maine with me. I was SO excited to cook in a wood fired oven.  I haven't done that since I left Bermuda! This is my excited face.  This is my pizza shirt. Photo credit to Matt After I did a test pizza that was just a simple margarita, Elissa's pizza was first up.  I thought it would go best first because it was breakfasty.  Even though it was noon by this point and we were all drinking beer. This pizza has ricotta along with the normal pizza cheese blend.  The kale is cooked on top to get really crispy, and then after it comes out of the oven it gets hit with 3 beautiful eggs and a drizzle of sriracha. Matt's pizza was up next and I thought it was funny that he choose the stars as the background because putting mac and cheese on a pizza screams America! This also has some homemade bacon in it that I will be posting on here soon enough.
Another closeup shot of the pizza. Finally, the super fancy pizza of the day came from Georgina.  Prosciutto, shaved asparagus, and fresh black truffle! When I asked everyone what their favorite pizza of the day was, this guy slightly edged out the others, but we all agreed that everything tasted great. It's hard to beat fresh truffle in my opinion.
Another shot of the fancy pizza in all it's glory.

We all had such a great weekend in Kennebunkport. Check out these bloggers on Instagram and Twitter to see more pics from the weekend. More importantly, check out the calendar of upcoming events at Table to check out the space for yourself!

Instructions

    Matt's Pizza
    1. Boil the pasta until tender.
    2. Make the mac and cheese - Cook the bacon until browned, add the onion and cook 3 minutes. Strain excess fat. Add the butter and flour. Cook 3 minutes, stirring often and being sure to scrape the bottom of the pan. Add in the milk and whisk. Bring to a simmer. It will thicken. Remove from heat. Add in the cooked pasta and all the cheese. Stir well until the cheese is melted and everything is combined.
    3. To build the pizza, form the dough and top with a very thin layer of tomato sauce. Top with a nice thick layer of the slightly cooled mac and cheese, about 1 inch thick. (it will be about 1/4 or 1/3 of the amount of mac and cheese you made)
    Elissa's Pizza
    1. Form your dough and first put a layer of ricotta. Next goes the pizza blend cheese. Then add the kale. you want to add what seems like a ton of kale. It will shrink a lot in the oven and will also become crispy. While the pizza cooks, fry up your eggs sunny side up. Right when the pizza comes out of the oven, top with the eggs and drizzle on the sriracha.
    Georgina's Pizza
    1. Form your dough and first top with a very thin layer of tomato sauce. Next add the prosciutto in an even layer. Add the cheese next, and then top with the asparagus. Cook the pizza and when it comes out of the oven top with freshly shaved truffles.
