It’s getting serious on Last Restaurant Standing with only four coupes remaining.
This week Raymond wants the remaining four restaurants to be the perfect hosts to their guests. “Do something special that makes them feel good and puts a smile on their faces” he says. We begin with everyone receiving a present from Raymond to give them the idea of what it feels like to be treated specially. He wants their guests to feel that way too.
Jeremy and Jane’s relationship has strained because of the show. They constantly show her giving out ideas and him turning them down. He finally decides to have a wine tasting for free with some wines from a local vineyard and Jane likes the idea as well. Jeremy also recruits a 20 person group to dine one night of the weekend and things are looking up for them. Later on, we see Jane calling the group to see why they had not yet arrived. We find out that they had been waiting on a callback from Jeremy for a set price and he never got back to them. On the plus side, the wine tasting went really well for them and the guests seem to really like it. I would have enjoyed it myself.
The twins have an idea that they will dress up strangely and surprise the diners mid service. You can tell that this was a strange idea that they ran with not taking a step back to see how silly it was. They ended up buying can-can outfits and dancing and shrieking through the restaurant for 10 minutes. It was extremely awkward and out of place.
Grant and Laura were handing out fliers for free wine. They did not explicitly say that the wine was free with the meal so people came around asking for their free wine this caused a mini freak out by Grant with a lot of bleeping and insulting the town. Later on in the middle of service, Laura sang a song. It was the most awkward and uncomfortable two minutes of the entire season. It was horrible.
Lloyd and Aduwa had extremely low bookings for Friday night (6 people). Yet they still somehow managed to make people wait hours for food and serve crap. Lloyd was late to work from running around a shopping mart parking lots trying to hand out fliers. The soux chef was 3 hours late so the prep suffered. Aduwa’s big customer appreciation thing is 2 chocolate covered strawberries served with your bill.
At judging, Jeremy and Jane are declared the winners. The people at the restaurant loved the wine tasting. Raymond asked Jane about her crying and she replied that she is emotional but effective and doesn’t let the emotions get in the way of her abilities; she lets them out and then moves on. Lloyd and Aduwa are up and down and never consistent, on Friday they served 17 but Saturday 73. They are it the challenge. Grant and Laura made a good profit but the singing was so awful that it brought them to the challenge. The twins are safe for the week. I never thought I would say that I miss Martin and Emma!
