For dinner the second night for me, and lunch the next day for both of us, I made my usual taco leftovers lunch, an awesome taco salad.  If I were to make this one day and leave the house for a few hours, it would be gone, the whole huge bowl of it.  Mandi likes it that much.

This post stems from a few different things.  First – Mandi and I have been somewhat inspired by some of our favorite chefs, especially Jamie Oliver, in their discussion of the treatment of animals and what your meat goes through on the way to your mouth.  We watched Ramsay purchase baby turkeys on his show “the F word” and build a pen for them in his backyard.  His children would feed and play with them.  Eventually they became Christmas dinner at his restaurant. If you are interested in this topic you can read some great articles here and here

Anyways, because of all this, we decided to try and only eat what mandi calls “happy meat” for a few months (lent).  This may not seem hard to most people in the US.  Just go to Whole Foods, shell out a few extra bucks, and get yourself some hormone and antibiotic free beef and free range chicken.  Here in Bermuda, it’s a bit more of a challenge. I like to walk to get my breakfast or lunch from work and for the last 2 years I have worked in locations where this was the only option.  My job just moved buildings and the only thing I can really walk to now is a tiny market with limited options.&ampnbsp These posts will show what has worked..... and what hasnt.

Normally for breakfast at work I have a yogurt, fruit and/or some cereal. Sometimes if I had a late night and am not feeling to well at work the next day, I need something more to give me that pick me up.  In the past I would get a delicious greasy breakfast sandwich or burrito. Today I wandered the market like a zombie, wondering what I could eat. Suddenly something caught my eye!

Delicious syrup flavor BUILT IN!!! mmmm sounds great! and I can save one for later, always a plus because its only Thursday and if I feel like this today, who knows about tomorrow.

ok, so it dosn't look as good made as it does on the box. thats fine, I didn't expect it to. The taste was great. It really woke me up and I was ready to work for the rest of the day. I was emailing my friends telling them its been years since Ive eaten frozen breakfast and I cant believe the giant leaps they have made in the technology.

Unfortunately the next day I had the other one and it was terrible. Hmmm. was I just really hungover? did I have them too close together? I'm not sure but I don't think I will ever be buying this again
