Beet St. Louis Burger (Comes With Beet Sauce)

I dressed up as Bob from Bob's burgers for a halloween party on Friday, and my friends dressed up as the rest of the Belcher family (except we had no Gene unfortunately). I thought the costume would be incomplete if I didn't bring some tasty and pun-based burgers going along the lines of the burger of the day Bob makes on the show. Instead of going with one of my favorite ones (like the chile relleno you didn't burger), I decided to make up my own! I went with the Beet St. Louis Burger because I had the Red Sox on my mind.
Lightly rubbed with salt, pepper, and olive oil. After the beets get nice and soft, get them into the food processor with the rest of the tasty ingredients. I was a burger machiene before we headed out to the party. I made 30 of these guys! I wore my costume while cooking the burgers so that I would be authentically stained. Yup, these were great! Juicy and just enough beet flavor without overpowering the burger. The vibrant sauce was fun for a Halloween party too. Here is the gang all dressed up. The food in my stash! People were really enjoying the burgers as the night went on.

Beet St. Louis Burger (Comes With Beet Sauce)

  • 6 Smallish Beets
  • 2 Tablespoons Mustard
  • 1/4 Cup Mayo
  • 3 Basil Leaves
  • 1 Sprig Thyme
  • Ground Beef
  • Cheddar Cheese
  • Mini Burger Buns

Instructions

  1. The beet sauce was 6 smallish beets roasted with salt, pepper, and olive oil until very tender. Pop them into a blender with a few tablespoons of mustard, about a quarter cup of mayo, a couple leaves of basil, a sprig of thyme, and just enough red vinegar to make get the right consistency. The burgers were just regular mini patties griddled with salt and pepper and topped with sharp cheddar cheese.
