Coffee Flavored Vodka

A few weeks back, I mentioned Iced Tea Vodka on the site. Mainly because it was a Friday and I didn't have a post ready. Little did I know, people are very interested in iced tea vodka! Someone suggested making your own iced tea vodka, and that made me think about all sorts of vodka flavoring. I have made limoncello before, so other flavors couldn't be hard. I started with a cold brew coffee vodka. Coffee flavored liquors are very popular these days with people shelling out big bucks for Café Patrón out at the bars. It is much cheaper to make your own!

Step one is to grind some coffee really coarse. You can grind it yourself, or ask them for a coarse or french press grind at the coffee shop. After it sits for a day or 2, it's time to drain it. You can see more info on the cold brew process on my rival's post about it.

This tastes like strong vodka. And strong coffee. Mix in some sugar and/or cream if you want. You could use this for a variety of drinks. Mix it with milk for a tasty take on a white russian.

We just mixed it up with some simple syrup and cream

These made for a tasty after dinner treat!

What is rich doing with the jello? I hate when people cheers with food! This toast was for Steph on the night of her birthday! For more on the food and fun from that night, check out tomorrow's post.

As I said before, you can check out Macheesmo's post on cold brew coffee. I just used vodka instead of water.

I infuse vodka all the time, mainly peppered vodka. Usually a pablano, a couple jalapenos, and a scotch bonnet. I slice all of them open, except the bonnet. Usually let it steep for a week or so, remove the peppers and there you go.

I'm a bloody mary freak, and this works great. Don't need to buy a mix. Just get the tomato juice, or clamoto depending on your tastes.

I've always found that my french press coffee gets an extremely bitter taste after 30 some minutes. Do you run into this problem when you do it?

I'm really enjoying the design and layout of your blog.
It's a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more enjoyable for me to come here and visit more often. Did you hire out a designer to create your theme?
Outstanding work!
