A slightly shorter review this week because while it was an
interesting episode, there was not much to report on because no one did really
great or really awful. The theme for the
5 remaining restaurants this week was branding your establishment and making
sure people know what your restaurant is all about when they come in for a
meal. Raymond decided that he would give
the teams some direction and tell them that teaching a cooking class would be a
helpful way to explain to people about your brand and get the word out.

Most of the cooking classes didn't seem to help the
restaurant brands in my opinion. Some people
did seem to have a great time while others didn't however there wasn't much
talk about the themes or ideas behind the restaurant or food which I believe
was the point of the class. The twins
were having a great time with everyone in their class but I think this is
because they all just got drunk the whole time.
They cracked many wine bottles but didn't even charge the people. On the lower end were Jeremy and Jane at 8 in
the country. The class seemed really awkward
and bored and Jeremy even followed a recipe while he was teaching the class!
The next day was focused on a normal evening service and
trying to keep the brand prominent.
Martin and Emma got pamphlets made up to establish the brandless "bravo"
as a bistro restaurant. When they received
the pamphlets, the word bistro wasn't even on them! This was ok because they went for a BBQ theme
in the end. Later on, a desperate Emma was literally standing in front of a competing
restaurant intercepting customers to come to bravo instead.
Lloyd and Adwoa realize their restaurant is near a college
so they hand out flyers to the college kids for cheap food. Laura and Grant embraced their Scottish roots
and fixed up the servers uniforms. They also
went on a radio show with a deep fried mars bar to attract customers.
In the Judging, Raymond awards Laura and Grant the prize of
restaurant of the week. They heeded his
advice and made changes in the restaurant and brought home a profit. The other team not going to the challenge is
Lloyd and Adwoa. In a surprise move,
Raymond sends the Twins to the Challenge saying that although they are doing
pretty well, he feels that they are coasting along and not striving for
something better. While they filled
their restaurant, they did not turn over any tables. Joining them in the challenge will be Martin
and Emma, and Jeremy and Jane. Jane
cries. The end
Be sure to tune in next week to see the couples market their
brand even further by packaging one of their meals into frozen food and selling
it at the grocery store. Also be sure to
check back here at TFIMB where I will have a special surprise accompanying my
review!!
