Last night was the Challenge episode of LRS where one team would have to go home. The challenge was between jazz lovers Jackie and Sam, mother and son Tom and Nicola, and the team I hate Martin and Emma. The Challenge this week was to turn a profit working a cafeteria lunch for scientists at their lab. The couples had some members of winning teams helping out and would each have a station at the cafeteria. There were 800 scientists working there and it was up to them which food they would choose to purchase.
Early on -
Nicola (momma) is very worried about their survival. She has her head down all morning and is not responding to Tom's inquiries. Meanwhile Martin and Emma seem to be doing great. They get their groceries home first and give a nice pep talk to their team. Jackie and Sam are in really bad shape. They are doing fuzzy math in their heads and have no idea how much things are costing. They are planning a Mexican themed meal which is generally cheap and popular. When they get home you can tell their team is pretty worried about them.
Service -
Jackie is walking around to offices offering lime cordial to everyone and offering a hand stamp worth free nachos. In the kitchen Nicola finally steps up and takes charge of her team and is barking out orders. Jackie realizes she forgot sugar for their apple crumble dessert so they buy some off another team. How is an apple crumble Mexican you might ask?? Well because it's called AYE! CARUMBLE! Regardless of the bad budgeting and planning they are doing well because Mexican sells well in general. Nicola and Tom are also doing well with their safe (as usual) British comfort menu. Martin and Emma seem to have no customers in their line and for once I feel bad for them.
Judging -
Martin and Emma were asked how they marketed their food. And specifically how did you make your food and booth look attractive to customers. Emma's response was "I stood behind it." This is particularly funny because Emma is disgusting. I don't feel bad anymore and hate them yet again.

140 people 454 ₤ sold 95 ₤ profit
Jackie and Sam had
no idea how they did because they were unable to work out cost per dish and I think
this is the main reason they were kicked off.
Jackie gave a heartfelt speech about how you can learn numbers but you can't
learn atmosphere and they have atmosphere in their restaurant. It didn't help and they are now gone. I will miss their wacky antics but they definitely
deserve to go. Apparently the twins will
miss them as well because they were shown crying as they walked by.
haha i jsut found out her name is spelled Jacqui. Also, no one seemed to mention that only about 450 of the scientists ate that day. That's a little more then half. Did the rest brown bag it? Those scientists, so smart!
